The economic region

“Landkreis Ansbach”

Flourishing economy in a romantic landscape

The district “Landkreis Ansbach” is a region of dynamic growth in the West of Central Franconia and home to 58 municipalities, 3 universities of applied sciences and more than 4,500 businesses.

The large population with below-average unemployment figures demonstrate that in Bavaria’s largest administrative district, a flourishing economy is not at odds with a beautiful landscape.

Furthermore, the close links to the economic region of Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen with its vast potential of qualified skilled personnel are a great advantage.

Excellent transport connections

The economic region of Ansbach offers optimum transport connections. In Landkreis Ansbach, the A6 motorway running from West to East Germany intersects the A7 motorway, Europe’s most important axis from North to South, thus creating an infrastructure hub which supports economic activities.

Consequently, the major agglomerations in Southern Germany are within easy reach: Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen are only 30 minutes away, Stuttgart-Heilbronn are reached in roughly one hour, and it takes 90 minutes to get to Mannheim or two hours to reach Frankfurt.

The major railway routes from Munich to Würzburg and from Nuremberg to Stuttgart pass through Ansbach and are of great importance to the district Nuremberg’s international airport “Albrecht Dürer” can be reached in roughly 40 minutes while it is only 90 minutes to the airports in Frankfurt or Munich.

Industrial sites meeting all requirements

The region’s economic structure is characterised by medium-sized industrial and trading companies as well as service businesses; in addition, a varied range of living quarters, educational institutions and leisure facilities are available.

With more than 2.7 million square metres of industrial sites, areas ranging between 3,000 and 180,000 square metres can be found which meet a large variety of demands and requirements – at attractive rates.
